253" Snowiest winter in 60 years of records

Ouray's residents have endured a very snowy winter, and on April 10 it became the snowiest in the 60 years of the National Weather Service record-keeping — a total of more than 21 feet and getting close to twice as much as normal.
The current 2007-08 snow total of 253.1" is now more than three standard deviations (99") above the historic mean of 137.52" a year.
